AAG&A members on the go
August 7th, 2007
Last week and this are busy weeks for Appalachian Authors Guild and Associates members. For twelve days a premier Virginia summer event takes place in historic Abingdon, VA. Daily three AAG&A authors participate in this event, as they did last year, by signing and selling books on the Barter Green, adjoining world-famous Barter Theatre on Main Street. A sign on the authors’ tent invites visitors to ‘Meet the Author’ and countless folks from all over the place have done just that. Even bought a number of books, too!
In conjunction with the Festival, authors unable to secure a spot in the tent during the festival are holding book signings at the Guild book store inside the Hidden Memories Antiques Store further down Main Street in Abingdon.
AAG&A invites any and all to come on down and ‘Meet the Author(s)’!
Sylvia Nickels’ book Eight Miles of Muddy Road is like a time machine that takes the reader back to days when families stuck together through thick and thin, made memories that lasted a lifetime, had traditions that were passed to the next generation and much more. It is also a personal story, yet eminently relatable. Touching, and at times bittersweet, the reader won’t regret picking this book. I didn’t.
